Full disclosure: I was holding a mimosa or similar beverage for the vast majority of my recent ladies trip to Kansas City. I assume it is this alcohol which made me see, purchase, and wear lingerie in public as apparel. Alcohol makes you do funny things. You know, like forget to wear pants.

I spotted this slip in the sale area of the Country Club Plaza Free People, and I knew I had to have it… as a dress. It’s soft, loose, and long enough (barely, but technically) to wear out of the house, so I did and I loved every 90s-inspired second.
I am about to turn 27, which means I was at my prime fashion-absorbing age at the time of Posh Spice’s Little Gucci Dress. Chokers and slip dresses have held a special place in my heart as the ultimate form of cool girl chic — and a few decades later, I am just as excited to rock this look as I would have then. All I’m missing is a Lisa Frank mini backpack to complete my childhood dream.
