A Very “Who Framed Rodger Rabbit?” Halloween

After years of adoring the movie and a solid month of on-again-off-again searching, I did it. I believe it to be one of my all-time favorite costumes. For this year’s Halloween events, Lance and I are Eddie Valiant and Jessica Rabbit. Can’t you practically hear “Why don’t you do right?” in the background?

First, let’s peek at my inspiration… My no-budget, class-tastic inspiration.

"Why don't you do right?" - Evening attire according to Jessica Rabbit

And then we have the actual images (Instagram, if you can’t tell) of the glorious costumes. Okay, glorious might be a bit of a stretch, but… whatever, I’m proud of our work. Lance’s suit was $8 at Goodwill, tie included, and the Rodger Rabbit plush was $2 at a yard sale. My H&M dress was something like $12 after shipping from eBay and the gloves were $12 after shipping from Amazon. I stitched up the back slit and cut a new one in the front. Simple as can be.

We spent the evening at Vinegar Hill Mall in our hometown. The venue, Donnie’s Homespun, had terrible sound, mediocre pizza, a great backdrop and may or may not have caught on fire at one point. Happy Hobgoblinspookadelic, everyone.

Enjoy a  fantastic-and-frightening Halloween, ladies and gentlemen! I think I’ll spend the rest of this week trying to maintain Ms. Rabbit’s classic-sultry charm. Red lipstick, anyone?

Thank you! I’ve kind of wanted to be her since I was a little kid. Life dream fulfilled. Ha!

Your costume looks amazing! I got told recently that I could make a good Jessica Rabbit, but I think you definitely did her justice 🙂

Thank you! And if I were you, I’d take that as one hell of a compliment… It’s a super fun costume to wear, you ought to think about it for next year!
