Like countless others, I am on the Clinique Black Honey bandwagon. It is such a flattering shade. For years, I’ve been buying it at Sephora and waiting to earn enough points for one tiny sample. Then I remembered that department store beauty counters do gifts with purchase and now my lipstick earns me a whole bag of goodies. Sorry, Sephora.

The base gift (free with a $28 purchase) includes one of two color sets. If you spend $55 or more you get the 7-piece set plus your choice of an added bonus. I didn’t actually spend that much but the Clinique counter was DEEPLY understaffed when I visited and they gave it to me as an apology for the extra long wait. Talk about great customer service! I went with the lipstick duo bonus, which includes: a small Jonathan Adler cosmetics bag; Pop Lip Colour + Primer in Punch Pop; and Pop Lip Colour + Primer in Plum Pop. See all the lip colors swatched below. (That isn’t glitter—it’s just somewhat shiny and was catching the flash.)
Wondering what to buy? I’m a die-hard fan of the Black Honey Almost Lipstick and newly addicted to the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. The Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balms are great, too, especially in Chunky Cherry and Super Strawberry.
