Dressing for the Holidays: Cozy and Casual in UGG Boots

It’s official: I have been invited to my first holiday party of the season. From office parties to dinner parties, family events to drinks with friends, there are so many places and reasons to celebrate this time of year. And each invitation brings up one key question — okay, two questions… Will there be drinks, and what do I wear?

This season, I’ll showcase a variety of holiday looks on the blog. Kicking things off is something casual, but festive: a white, oversized pullover sweater with my new black Sibley UGG boots.

Part of the Classic Street Collection, these Sibley boots are amazing for fall and winter. I hadn’t ever tried UGG boots before this campaign, as I always thought they were the wrong height for me. My mind has totally changed after seeing all the bootie-height and extra-tall UGG boots now available; with its over-the-knee height, these Sibley boots are elongating and so comfortable. You can even fold the edges down if you’d like a shorter look! I’m really blown away by the quality and craftsmanship… and obviously the comfort, but that’s pretty much a given.

Now that I’m hooked, I keep looking at the UGG site with the words ‘holiday wish list’ flashing in my head. Wouldn’t the Bethany booties look cute with cuffed boyfriend jeans? Or these McKay boots with practically everything in my closet? And I’ve heard the slippers are amazing.

For a casual holiday-appropriate look, I paired my black Sibley UGG boots with an oversized, white pullover sweater and a wool fedora. Perfect for brunch or other casual get-togethers, it is winter ready without being too dressy or stuffy. The extra-tall boots and skinny jeans keep it slimming, while the oversized top allows for extreme eating; the top button on my pants could be undone and you’d have no idea. It’s a holiday miracle!
