Dressing for the Holidays: Winter White

Did you get married recently? You’re in luck: you probably have the perfect holiday dress just waiting in your closet!

No, not your wedding dress… but if you wear it out send me pics so I can bow down to you, ya fashion queen. I’m talking about the random white dresses you likely bought for literally every wedding activity on the bridal list.

Bachelorette? Check. Bridal shower? Check. Rehearsal dinner? Check. I wore white as much as I could. And while I don’t regret buying the frocks – that bridal bliss was tons of fun, and I’m glad I did everything I wanted to while celebrating – I now have a closet full of dresses I cannot wear to anyone else’s wedding, which is the most common dressy place I go.

Uhhh… whoops.

I bought this dress to wear to my bridal shower after my thyroid surgery, as it matched a scarf I owned and I thought covering the Frankenstein stitches on my neck might help keep the celebration from going down a bummer path. The little nubs of fabric already look like snow, and the subtle sequins really take it over the holiday edge. For even more winter white, I paired it with matching ‘frosting’ (can you tell I just watched How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days? Ha!) and added black tights and boots so the rest would pop in comparison.
