‘Glad’ About Sales

I may or may not have bought a dress because it reminded me of something from the movie Pollyanna.

A few weeks back I was shopping with my gal pal Lindsay, and we wandered into a mad-rad Banana Republic sale where I found this unusual dress for $12. It is not like anything I’d normally buy, mainly because of the drop waist. I’m short and busty and not rail thin, so a drop waist look isn’t my go-to, to say the least. Something about it was super appealing, even more so than the low price. At first I thought it looked like something an American Girl doll would wear, but then I finally placed it: It’s the type of dress Pollyanna would wear, and I found out that little part of my brain that used to play pretend along with the movie really, really still wants a dress that looks like hers.

Or at least I guess. I don’t know why else I bought it, because it seemed like an awful idea when I got home. After several tries, I finally found a summer look I like with the dress.

(You remember, Pollyanna, right? She plays The Glad Game? She has a killer shopping montage? Ringing any bells? On to the look regardless.)
