Hello, warm weather! Hello, hazel2blue!

The first few weeks of warm weather are my favorite; it isn’t too humid and I haven’t gotten a post-air conditioning electric bill. I hope everyone else is enjoying this springtime sweet spot as much as I am. I’ll be spending these next few weeks in blouses, booties, and cut-offs.

This outfit is from local boutique hazel2blue. I met the women behind hazel2blue right before it opened, and a gift from the brand was one of my earliest blog posts. This was my first trip to its brick-and-mortar location, and I loved it.  The shop was perfectly sized with a curated selection and great prices. Plus, the drive to Alton was speedy and scenic; it’s just a hop, skip, and a bridge away from St. Louis, and there are a ton of other things to do (like, say, visit Old Bakery Beer) while you’re there.

Currently wearing… Black lace shoulder hi/low top by Umgee, c/o hazel2blue [HERE] | Article of Society shorts, c/o hazel2blue | State necklace by Adorn512, c/o hazel2blue | Bag by Rebecca Minkoff, Nordstrom Rack | Earrings, c/o Kendra Scott | Cuff, c/o Free People | Harding booties, c/o Naturalizer [HERE]

I love these distressed, loose Article of Society shorts paired with a flowy top; I almost always prefer loose clothing, but when the weather warms up I am entirely against anything tight. The fitted cap sleeves in the blouse give a bit of definition to the outfit, and I get to stay 100% comfortable. While wearing black. And looking springy. Yassss.

P.S. Head to hazel2blue this Friday (May 6, 2016) for a special Mother’s Day event! In collaboration with White Birch, the store is holding a Mother/Daughter Night Out complete with fashion show and drawings. Find out more on hazel2blue’s Facebook page.

Oh Juliann! You could wear a paper bag and be so cute! But yeah looking swell! Anyways, I’m originally from Kansas and I so miss this time of year. I live in Connecticut now for about 15 years. It’s wearing on me from the cold weather ( it’s 40 this time of year… Ick) my body is sick and I can’t deal with it…the people suck putting it mildly… I sure do miss the kindness and hospitality of home, the Midwest… Nothing like the people… Here, it’s go go go and how fast and I’ll run you over, too close to NYC and that mentality of too busy to be kind, traffic is a nightmare so I stay away from the the Connecticut I95 corridor going to and from the city… Even people on the train are in a hurry ughh so I enjoy your posts and relish the times I’m well enough for a road trip back home. I love to drive back because once you hit Missouri I feel the Midwestern love!
