It’s 55 degrees and my wardrobe is thrilled

It is finally chilly in good ‘ole St. Louis. Do I even need to explain why this is good news? Didn’t think so.

This week has been semi-sleepy, semi-lazy, semi-I-don’t-give-a-shit, all of which tend to equal sub par style. Alas, I can’t tolerate leaving the house feeling ‘I look mehhh today’, so I have finally perfected (and stocked up on) my favorite cool-weather comfort outfits.

Enter the pullover+skinnys+boots+scarf look. It’s cute, it’s fashionable, it’s comfortable and it’s easy. And I couldn’t be more thrilled.

Autumn comfort

While I wore a variation of this outfit to work the majority of this week (sad or smart, you decide), I did not double up on sweaters. After stocking up at a few discount stores, I have a handful of solid and patterned pullovers ranging from grey with no details to eggplant with a shawl neck. And they all look good with skinnys and boots.

For amazing pullover finds, check out Target, TJ Maxx, American Apparel, Forever 21, Victoria’s Secret and most stores with a lounge/workout attire section, such as Gap or Aerie. The key to keeping it from looking sloppy is finding a pullover with a slim (or slim-ish) fit and stylish color. Hooded and zippered options can look good (although the details, like the scarf, would need adjusting); I just find myself preferring these this year.

Please feel free to argue for yoga pants as the best real-life comfort clothes in the comments. 🙂
