You know that type of gusting, blustering snow that makes it look like you live inside of a snow globe? That’s what kind of snow this was, and it made everything feel just magical enough to warrant wearing a gold-colored headband encrusted with three-dimensional flowers.
A word to the wise… There’s a lot going on in this look: structured shoulders, a full skirt, a bold print, and a statement headband. So why doesn’t it look too obtrusive? The color palate is fairly neutral. By sticking to muted greens, blacks, and golds, the shapes and textures of each piece are noticeable, but they still go together as a cohesive outfit. Additionally, the exaggerated shoulders mirror the overly-wide skirt, but are anchored on top and bottom by the curly hair and heavy boots. At the end of the day, I think fashion is little more than color theory and geometry. And to think, they never thought I was paying attention in math class…

Another great perk of winter? It’s so cold that layering a skirt (previously seen here and here) over a dress (previously seen here) makes total sense. The forecast is making me think—cough cough, hope—this will be the last snow-covered outfit post for a while, but I’m always freezing, so long skirts over dresses might be my new thing.
Farewell, snow! Don’t come back until much later in the year, by orders of the Snow Globe Queen.
You look great! I could never be chic in the snow.
Wow that skirt is awesome!!! Wish we had some snow here in so cal D;
