It’s getting hot. And not like, Oh I’m a tid bit toasty. This is more, My boobs sweat through my bra heat. Thankfully, the forecast says we have more up and down temps on the horizon (which means I can get away with jackets a couple more days before the summer kicks off.) But still, try as I might, I won’t be able to avoid summer. It’s coming. Grr.
This is the time of year most people switch to linen and seersucker. They are lightweight and summery and SO not my style. I want fall colors and thick textures and things that don’t wrinkle. My solution: a velvet tank top. Sure, this is far from a summer material – but the smooth lining and outward-draping style keep me cool while wearing it. Peplum is practically built-in air conditioning, as it lets any breeze enter through the bottom and envelope your overheated bits in fresh air. That’s just fashion science, kids.
