Poncho Party

Saturday we hosted a sit-down dinner for a dozen people. Sunday, for understandable reasons, I just wanted to be comfortable. But we needed to leave the house. The struggle.

Thankfully, after Thanksgiving I picked up a sale poncho because I care more about coziness than sex appeal at this point. This time of year I’d like to be physically wrapped in bread stuffing, if possible; to avoid dousing myself in butter and bread, I settle for knitwear in warm, earthy tones. (And then I eat all the bread stuffing while snuggled in layers, obviously.)

Currently wearing… Poncho, Target [HERE on sale!] | Shirt, AE [HERE on sale!] | Tights, ℅ Kushyfoot | Boots ℅ Naturalizer | Rebecca Minkoff Mini 5-Zip Crossbody purse, Nordstrom Rack [HERE] | Beanie ℅ Free People [HERE]

It’s quite cold, and yet I keep wearing shorts. These Kushyfoot tights (plus boots and layers and more layers) keep them seasonally appropriate — and offer extra comfort with padded soles. As an added perk for tights-and-shorts, keeping the legwear fitted does showcase one’s shape while wearing a gargantuan sweater. Since attire has so much to do with my job, it’s probably best I stay on the side of at least semi-flattering, but truth be told I’m about one chilly day away from wearing a Snuggie and calling it haute couture.

Stay warm out there, gals.
