Rock The Dots! Minnie Mouse-Inspired Outfit + Disney Updates

Exciting news, loves! I’m going to my favorite place to visit: Walt Disney World! Sure, I don’t leave until March, but you know I am already planning the outfits. I was digging through my skirts when I stumbled across this vintage, Minnie-like option and realized it would be the perfect way to #rockthedots on National Polka Dot Day from St. Louis. Anyone else in need of a little Midwestern Minnie magic? (Say that five times fast.)

Currently wearing… Skirt, vintage [SIMILAR] | Jacket, Express [SIMILAR] | Necklace, Walt Disney World [SIMILAR] | Booties c/o Naturalizer [SIMILAR] | Top (actually a mini dress), Express [SIMILAR] | Backpack [HERE]

I found this Loungefly x Minnie Mouse bag on super sale, and while it’s largely sold out it can still be found at a few places online. Lucky for us, there’s a variety of other Minnie- and Mickey-themed bags and backpacks perfect for weekends or a day at the theme park.

National Polka Dot Day is January 22, and Disney is celebrating with a Rock The Dots campaign and a special Minnie Mouse celebration! After all, the cutest gal at Walt Disney World is getting her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame that day. Looking to rock the dots in another way? Never fear, I have more ideas!

I think this outfit will be great for a day at the parks, depending on the weather. I personally like Magic Kingdom the most, although Hollywood Studios (or MGM as us lifelong park hoppers are still sometimes saying) has always been a close second. And I cry a happy tear every time I ride Spaceship Earth at Epcot. And the Kilimanjaro Safaris at Animal Kingdom’s Harambe Wildlife Reserve is amazing. And we tend to ride the monorail for at least half an hour after the parks close because even the transit is magic. Maybe picking a favorite is hard.

Am I letting my inner nerd show?

There have been some pretty amazing changes to Walt Disney World since our last visit for our honeymoon, including a gigantic addition to Animal Kingdom and some serious renovations at Hollywood Studios. However, it’s some of my old favorites I’m most excited to experience and taste, like It’s A Small World and a Mickey ice cream bar. I don’t physically handle thrill rides well, so some of the old-school family options are perfect for me and my nostalgic self. When it comes to new and exciting, I’m most pumped about new movies.

In the world of Marvel, Black Panther looks amazing, and later this year we’ll finally get a sequel to The Incredibles. And to Wreck-It Ralph! Emily Blunt will bring new life to Mary Poppins in Mary Poppins Returns, and Oprah will help tell A Wrinkle In Time. As a former (no good) ballerina, I think I’m the most excited about The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, but it’s hard to pick.

Are you a fellow Disney nerd? Geek out in the comments and tell me about your favorite flick or ride!
