Styling Luichiny | Over-the-knee boots for beginners

Have I mentioned that I love boots? Maybe, did I say that I wear them until it’s 100 degrees? Was it noted that I own many, many types of glorious tall leather footwear? It should come as no surprise that I selected boots when wild brand Luichiny offered each STLFW blogger a pair.

Hello, Luichiny Cala Lily boots. (Hello, Julia!)

When the boots were delivered I realized a special surprise I hadn’t noticed online: they are over-the-knee boots. Maybe I’m just too short (wouldn’t that be hilarious?), but these leather Luichiny lovelies go above my knee, even if it’s just by an inch.

Over-the-knee boots remind me of two things: the main outfit from Pretty Woman and the scene in The Devil Wears Prada where Andy wears the new Chanel boots. What I want is somewhere in the middle, and after a long time spent styling, I think I’ve landed on two solid ideas: over-the-knee boots with tunics+skinny jeans or boxy dresses.

The unique silhouettes and modest amounts of bare skin (note the dark tights) keep the outfits from seeming too provocative or, worse, dull. And on a side note, I’m half-way to ordering that ModCloth tunic because, let’s be honest, it’s awesome and would look spectacular with these new shoes. Sorta kinda gotta have it. But back to shoes– an over-the-knee boot is new territory for me, in the most exciting of ways. I can’t wait until the weekend to wear them with denim and minidresses!

Luichiny Heels

Speaking of stepping out of the shoe norm, I think I found a new lust-worthy pair while perusing the Luichiny store. Cute, no? And in camel and black, no less. To me, that means it could match with damn near everything. Interested in ordering a pair? I found that my boots fit true to size and were very comfortable.
