Trading Earmuffs for Ear Cuffs

We might all be ready for short-shorts and swimsuits, but it’s snowing in St. Louis—and, for that matter, a bunch of other places. With a five-day high of 44 degrees, it’s time to keep the winter-wear out and accessible. Don’t worry… It will be uncomfortably warm before we know it. Another week or two of coats and gloves isn’t the worst.

To be honest, my main annoyance with winter isn’t the bleak sky or the chilly noses or the shortened days… It’s the constant need for outerwear. Sure, I love my puffy coat with the faux-fur trim, but it’s always covering the ensemble I planned, and that’s a bummer. There’s no way around it; showcasing personal style in chilly temperatures and lousy weather conditions can be a drag. My solution? Choose classic outerwear with fun details, like these jumbo lapels. I added it to all-black ensemble with on-trend jewelry*, pops of leopard, and over-the-knee boots** for a toasty warm and fashionably fulfilled day in the snow.

*While trading earmuffs for ear cuffs makes for a great look, be sure to keep those earmuffs in your purse. Beauty may be pain, but I can’t believe how pink my ears still are.
**See above, but switch in details about the horrors of wearing heeled boots to walk across an ice-snow-ice sandwich covering the parking lot. That’s fashion dedication, if I do say so myself.
