Va-Va Vintage Shopping: 50¢ floral sundress

I’m having trouble keeping up with the weather. After a busy workweek and a family crisis, I find myself missing a few days and some seasonal weather changes in my mental calendar. Not long ago it was 80 degrees, wasn’t it..? Then it has to be coming again soon, right..? Because I’m ready for some warmer days, lighter fabrics and lunch outside. I have already shifted my closet, so it’s kind of too late to go back to winter.

Julia Christensen Vintage Floral Sundress

And I’m excited about some of the summer outfits I found in my closet! This is a dress made for warm weather. A while back I found this vintage pleated sundress at a thrift store in my hometown for a mere 50¢; the store either moved or went out of business or something else I cared nothing about in 2006 because I had 50¢ and loved, loved, loved this pattern. Originally purchased for the fabric, the dress ended up fitting like a glove. Because of its dainty waist and long hem, it never worked well with a jacket or flats– enter the heeled sandals and tied chambray.

Thanks! Chambray makes everything better. Now I just need a chambray blazer…
