Long time no blog! After having to suddenly travel due to a loss in the family and falling ill upon my return, I’ve barely had the energy for my day job. Thankfully, everything is back on track now and I have a plethora of blog content waiting to be published. Thanks for your patience, guys! Now, let’s get to it…
The holiday season has somehow snuck up on me. You too? I hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving and a successful Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday—yay, deals! I can’t believe it’s now nearly December. But don’t forget, there is one more important day before the end of the month: Giving Tuesday!
I was invited by Gordmans to co-host one of its #gThanks Giving Tuesday events, so I’ll be at the Arnold, Missouri, Gordmans tomorrow from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. for the special shopping party. Ten percent of all sales from 5 p.m. until close will benefit that store’s charity partner (Salvation Army St Louis at mine!) and the first 50 guests who arrived during this time frame will receive a $5 gift card. Oh, and did I mention there will be a raffle for one $100 gift card? And in case you didn’t know, $100 goes a long way at a store like Gordmans.
Need proof? I recently stopped by the store to do some shopping and see how much I could add to my living room to finish it up for the holidays with a $100 gift card. I have plenty of holiday decor, but I’ve been on the hunt for an end table to go between our two chairs in our living room since we bought this house. I’ve never found anything because it needed to be a very specific size and shape. First, it had to be tall; nothing is more annoying than trying to put a beverage on the table that’s just too low from where you’re sitting. Next, it needed to be skinny. We frankly don’t need more furniture in our living room, nor do we have room for it, but parties always remind me people sitting in these chairs need a place to put their drink. And lastly—and most importantly—the table needed to fit over a vent on our floor. It couldn’t hide the vent, or hinder its use, and I need it to stand without touching the cover so it doesn’t become unstable.
After two years of looking, I finally spotted this industrial and table in the clearance area of Gordmans for—drumroll, please—less than $60. I had enough left in my budget to buy some holiday favorites to truly make our entertaining space ready for December, including a snack sampler, festive candle, and cocoa mix. I’d say our space is officially ready for entertaining through the end of the year!
Not in St. Louis? This event is happening nationwide! Local bud? I’ll see you tomorrow!
FYI, this post was not sponsored but I am collaborating with them for tomorrow’s event and a gift card was provided to me to shop!
