Liquor. Lipstick. Instagram-ready snacks. These are the things my girls night out dreams are made of. Lucky for me (and fellow blogger babes and friends Yasmin, Elena, and Mattea) that’s exactly what we found during our recent trip to the CWE.
We were invited by one of the area’s prettiest hotels to head to St. Louis’ Central West End for a special, complimentary girls night out experience. The Central West End is known as one of the most visually stunning areas in the city, combining historic charm with made-for-TV quality quirk and character. The Chase Park Plaza Royal Sonesta, located in the heart of the Central West End, is one of this area’s gems. From its stunning lobby to its beautiful rooms, staying at The Chase is always a luxurious experience, which made it the perfect place for our ladies evening.
We checked into our room around 4 p.m. and headed upstairs to hang out before our late-night plans. We were surprised to find out The Chase had filled our room with girls night out essentials, including a stocked mini bar and snack table. (If we’re being honest, is it even a blogger party if there isn’t at least one macaron?)
After kicking the night off with a cocktail, we got ready in our massive suite, which had a connecting second room. Two bathrooms should always be required when this many people are doing their hair and makeup.
I went for a look that was fun but festive, as The Chase Park Plaza is currently decorated head to toe with garland and lights. I paired this candy-apple red Express midi skirt with an Express off-the-shoulder blouse I found closed out at Gordmans. My past has taught me heels aren’t my strongest suit, so I went for ankle booties and added jewel-toned accessories in the form of my favorite Kendra Scott winter 2017 pieces. The others’ looks were varied, but fit their personalities perfectly. Mattea was casual with a kick. Yasmin had a fantastic statement piece in the form of her patterned jacket. And Elena went with a glam emerald dress, which frankly made us look like a coordinated holiday group which was an unintended perk.
After getting ready, we headed downstairs to The Chase Club for drinks by the fire. Its patio is gorgeous, and while summer is obviously its best time it was still plenty fun to enjoy a drink under the stars while sitting next to the oversized fireplace. I ordered the London Calling, simply because of the Clash reference. What more can you expect from me?
It started to get cold, so as we finished our drinks we headed inside to get our table at The Chase Club. We started our meal with some appetizers in the form of flatbread, shrimp skewers, and sliders. For our entrees, almost everyone tried something different. I went with the steak frites, which came with a steak sauce I would love to buy in gallon jug containers and pour on literally everything. For dessert, we split the apple tart and gooey butter cake, which we enjoyed as the live music kicked off inside the club.
Before heading back to our room, we wandered around The Chase Park Plaza to admire the architecture and Christmas decorations. We brought our friend Meredith from L Photographie to snap a few photos of and enjoy the evening out; all of the beautiful pictures seen here were snapped by her. If only we were sending out a blogger Christmas card, as these images would be perfect.
Once the “out” experience (as in, “out” of the room) of our girls night out was complete, we headed back upstairs to our room, got cozy in pajamas, and popped open another bottle of wine. The living room in our suite was perfect for a group, so we sat around chit-chatting for hours. At one point I became insanely over-excited about the quality of the toiletries in the room. What can I say? I’m a sucker for a sewing kit.
All in all, our girls night out staycation was fantastic and I can’t wait to hang out with these ladies again. Blogger events tend to be photogenic, yes, but The Chase Park Plaza is simply a beautiful place to stay, making it serious #InstagramGoals if that’s your style. (Don’t worry, I also hate myself a little for saying that, but you know it’s true.)
Where do you go to celebrate a girls night out?
This post was brought to you in collaboration with The Chase Park Plaza Royal Sonesta. This experience was gifted to me, but all opinions of our night and the brand are my own.
This was such a fun night! I love the photo of you in front of the tree. Can’t wait to do another girls night soon 🙂
xx Yasmin
