It’s officially August, which means it is time for one final summery cocktail before I break out the autumn flavors a little too early.
But before we get to that, here’s a fun update: I’m the newest Top Shelf Blogger for Drizly! We’ve talked about Drizly before. It’s an alcohol delivery service available in more than 15 cities, and I love it. As a welcome gift they sent me — what else? — a bottle of liquor. In the spirit of not leaving your house for booze, I crafted a new recipe around this tequila and other ingredients I could find in my house. Yum!
Tropical Iced Tea-Quila Cocktail Recipe
Makes one glass
Ingredients
- 4 oz. tropical fruit juice
- 4 oz. fruit iced tea
- 1 oz. tequila
- Orange bitters
For this particular recipe, I used Naked Power-C Machine juice, Teavana Wild Orange Blossom Herbal Tea, El Jimador Silver tequila, and Fee Brothers Orange Bitters leftover from my last recipe with Drizly, the Raspberry Mai Tai!
Directions
- Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker
- Mix thoroughly to combine the tea and juice
- Serve immediately over ice
- Add a drink umbrella, duh
Does this tea + alcohol + juice combo sound odd to you? Trust me! It’s good. Since the tea and the juice have similar flavors, the combination just cuts the sticky-sweet nature of the juice while leaving that fruity taste.
Here’s to the end of summer!
