An evening spent dancing is great, but I much prefer a little DIY. Let’s meet up this Thursday after work for snacking and crafting! I’ll be one of the featured bloggers at Schnarr’s Hardware‘s Ladies’ Night on April 30, and if you’re in St. Louis, you should stop by! Door prizes, munchies, discounts, tutorials… Yeah, it’s going to be great.
Schnarr’s asked me to come up with a few hardware store projects before the event, and I am thrilled to share these easy, DIY (so very inexpensive) earrings made from rosette mirror clips. With only a few minutes of work, you can have vintage-inspired stud earrings in your favorite colors.
Here’s what you’ll need…
- Rosette mirror clips
- Adhesive
- Earring backs
- Nail file
- Nail polish
- Top coat
Thanks for providing me with a gift card for the project, Schnarr’s!
This project is super easy. Take your nail file and sand the back of the rosettes. Also, file the edges and corners of the rosettes if they are sharp. Paint the back of the rosette with your nail polish, let it dry, and add a top coat. Once it is fully dry, glue the acrylic centers in place and the earring back onto the rosette.
For my first pair, I used a dusty gold polish to create a Bakelite-inspired set. However, if you’re a bit more into color, try a different hue of nail polish!
Feeling crafty? Try making these earrings or my faucet handle bracelet at this week’s DIY event at Schnarr’s Hardware! See and try projects, enjoy snacks, and shop with a special 15% discount from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on April 30. Don’t forget to RSVP for Ladies’ Night (on Facebook and via email [melissa@schnarrs.com]) on April 30. I’ll see you on Thursday!
