Relaxing During Cancer Treatment: Peek Inside the LivingWith™ Mobile App

Thank you Pfizer for sponsoring this post. Join Pfizer’s This Is Living With Cancer™ initiative by sharing your story with #InspirationLives on Facebook and Instagram to support and inspire those who have been affected by cancer, and be sure to check out the LivingWith™ mobile app available via iTunes and Google Play.

What helped me the most during cancer treatment? Relaxation. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: calming down during treatment kept the experience bearable. From cozy new pajama pants to cups of tea while cuddled in bed, these moments of peace let me reserve my energy and stay mentally balanced.

Others must agree. Thankfully, Pfizer created the free LivingWith mobile app, which is designed to help patients and caregivers build a network of support and organize key documents. It also enables patients and their loved ones to record certain important information, track mood and pain and learn about local events and nutrition.

Looking to organize during cancer treatment or help someone you know who is battling cancer? I recently downloaded the app and found three personal favorite features…

REQUESTS

Need a ride to an appointment? How about a meal? Someone to watch your child? A little help around the house? Let your supporters help you when you need it by quickly and easily submitting a digital request. Instead of texting each person individually, this shows your request to your entire designated support system.

HEALTH NOTES

With cancer comes a lot of information to keep straight. My treatment plan was fairly straightforward, but, even then, I was seeing multiple doctors, had a variety of medications to balance, needed to keep do’s and don’t’s straight and had a plethora of advice to record. My system was sticky notes, and you can imagine how… ummm… useless it was. Ha! I’m still occasionally stumbling upon a loose note here and there. Lots of good that did me. The health notes section of this app is thorough and convenient.

WELL-BEING

From pain to steps to sleep, you can keep track of other aspects of your body. You can even connect some of the major tracking devices, so they sync with the app automatically.
