Travel Favorite: Review of Jiffy Steamer’s ESTEAM Handheld Travel Steamer

I really, really, really hate ironing. I h-a-t-e it. It’s the worst. It all started the day I learned to iron, practicing on a dish towel in the school’s library during my Girl Scout meeting; it was terrible then and it’s terrible now. The heat, the creases, the tricky places it doesn’t fit… And don’t even get me started on the clunky ironing boards. Ironing. Uck.

With a distaste so strong, I’m sure you can guess why I started using a fabric steamer. Whether my clothing has sat in the dryer too long or been crumbled up in a suitcase, steaming is 100% the easiest way to de-wrinkle your clothing. Since I’m heading out of town this weekend, you can bet your butt I’ll be packing my ESTEAM Handheld Travel Steamer by Jiffy Steamer.

Full disclosure: I was sent an ESTEAM Handheld Travel Steamer to try out for free. Fuller disclosure: This is the third steamer I have owned and the only one I’ve ever wanted to tell others to buy.

On one hand, I’ve had a bigger and more expensive steamer than the ESTEAM; on the other, I’ve had a more portable and less expensive steamer. In Goldilocks fashion, this third steamer was finally just right.

The water basin is large enough to steam my entire outfit without refilling, yet it isn’t so huge that heat-up time takes too long. The steamer is small enough to comfortably fit inside my carry-on, yet the nozzle takes up enough space to use for steaming curtains, tablecloths, and craft fabric. Unlike both my previous steamers, this automatically releases steam in a steady flow (as opposed to a button system) which makes the de-wrinkling process fast and simple.

See how it nestles into my cramped carry-on bag? It also fits comfortably with my curling iron at home for everyday storage. Small but powerful, this product is tough to beat. Now, back to throwing my clothing into my suitcase. Why even bother folding if I’m bringing this?
