There’s no place like home for the holidays… and also during the days following the holidays, which are obviously meant to be spent with old friends who also came to town. Home wins. Hooray for home.
In case I’m losing ya here, Lance and I just got back to St. Louis, like two or three hours ago. Our Christmas holiday was spectacular, and we were so lucky to spend time with loved ones and receive so many thoughtful presents. This December, I even received one special gift from an amazing store… Anthropologie!
I was beyond elated to discover I was one of the lucky #DearAnthro winners earlier this month, and I eagerly took my new treasure home for the holidays. This structured tri-color leather satchel is perfect for work, but the double-strap keeps it a bit playful, making it weekend-friendly.
Lance and I are from Springfield, Ill., and we spent the post-holiday weekend watching hometown bands; filling up on food from Luca Pizza, Hunan Chinese Restaurant, and Monty’s Submarines; and sucking terribly at pool with old friends. (The purse was perfect everywhere.) Oh, and there was lots and lots of late-night Denny’s, because we apparently haven’t changed in over a decade. Why mess with tradition?
I’ve shown you bits and pieces of Springfield before, but I was thrilled to find out we had time for some extra downtown photos on this trip. First, we visited one of the prettiest sites in town: the Illinois Capitol Building.

Where’d you spend the holidays?
