The Autumn Approach to Crop Tops

Randomly one day we all started wearing crop tops again, and we quickly stocked up on those half-shirts in some clingy post-1990s fashion. As much as we all wish we lived like Cher and Dionne, this isn’t Clueless and we aren’t in Beverly Hills circa 1995. Our closets still don’t utilize the full power of technology to pair outfits (unless you count Polyvore, which is a stretch), there’s something eerily retro about saying “As if,” and no matter what Cher advises, I won’t take my nose ring out when my allergies act up.

Did I lose you on a reference? Run to Netflix before I tell your friends you don’t remember the details of this classic. Not a fan of the flick? I simply can’t roll my eyes at you enough.

But back to crop tops. We love them, they’re great, we all bought them, blah blah blah. Since it is November and I’m in Missouri, not California, it’s COLD, so all those new midriff-baring blouses are collecting dust.

Problem solved. Throw the crop top over a dress. It’s all the fun of a skirt and top without the horrors of keeping something tucked in. And yes, I think Ms. Cher would approve.

Quick question, folks: If crop tops are cool again, what’s next? I never gave up on 90s ska, miniskirts and boys with skateboards, and we all know Paul Rudd stayed in style. Here’s hoping the next big rerun in fashion is yellow plaid. Fingers crossed!

PS: Sorry for the silence the last few days, dolls. I’ve been itching to post, but we’ve been crazy busy with the upcoming holiday issues at work. Oh, and I’ve been finalizing all the details for my favorite party of the year: Thanksgiving! I can’t wait to share all the fun little details from the dinner. Expect pictures, and lots of them.
