I am a creature of habit. I find one meal I like at a restaurant and order it every time. Excluding a few rotating lip colors, I wear my makeup the same way every day. I like to listen to the same trusty playlist when I’m cleaning the house. And I gravitate toward many of the same clothing pieces over and over.
Since I write about fashion so frequently, I know I can’t rock identical looks every day. To help fix this I fill my closet with styles I love in varying colors and patterns. I have six or so moto jackets in different materials and shades. I’ve accumulated a dozen-ish purses with crossbody straps. And I have an entire drawer of mini skirts that feel about the same on while looking just different enough from each other to call unique.
If this outfit looks familiar, it’s because you’ve seen much of it before. (A few times.) I can’t help myself—everything I buy matches what I already have because they look so much alike. Doesn’t that just mean I have a strong sense of personal style? I’m reaching for the positive here…

So what’s new in this look? I found that Free People shirt closed out while visiting family in Denver and it has—holy shit, wait for ittttt—pockets. Yes. Awesome. The necklace and purse are also new and from my recent T.J.Maxx Instagram takeover. It’s going to be live for a few more hours if you want to head to its account and see the full Valentine’s Day-themed shopping trip! In case you miss it, I’ll have my final look on my Instagram on February 13 when Lance and I celebrate the holiday.
On a hilarious note, it was almost 60 degrees when I photographed this yesterday. Now it’s back in the 20s. At least if I wear this look again soon you know I’ll have to change one big thing: double-thick tights.
