New Year’s Shopping | My Saks 5

I could have spent my January 1st cleaning, exercising, creating a budget, or doing any of the other dozen things I’d like to master in 2014. Did I? HA. Absolutely not. Instead, I spent my day at Saks Fifth Avenue, perusing the racks and designing my dream outfit, and I feel safe saying it was the right choice.

Through the new Saks 5 blogger collaboration, I was invited to the Plaza Frontenac store to design a head-to-toe look. Considering I’ve been freezing since, I don’t know, September, I obviously went right to the layers—soft, skinny pants in ‘boysenberry’ and rich leather in ‘silver fox’ are bound to keep me warmer and happier than one of my many pilled, old sweaters. And, as I can practically imagine where every holiday cookie set up camp on my post-Christmas bod (worth it), I thought it best to stick with a longer, looser blouse. A mid-calf boot and bright polish finish things off, making this outfit perfect for winter weekends out. Greys + purples + boots = one happy Julia.

My favorites, all available for purchase at Saks Fifth Avenue – Plaza Frontenac
Blouse, Equipment, $248  | Jacket, Joie, $928 | Skinny Pants, 7 For All Mankind, $178 | Nail Polish, NARS in No Limits, $19 | Booties, Jimmy Choo, $950 | For more information, call 314-567-9200

Uhm… Does anyone else hate almost everything in their closet now? Sorry ’bout that. Personally, that Joie jacket makes me wonder how I’ve ever loved a jacket before. (But don’t tell that to my current coat, as it’s snowy and, well, I sort of need it.)

Just a note… I was invited by Saks Fifth Avenue – Plaza Frontenac to participate in #TheSaks5STL blogger collaboration. That being said, these thoughts are my own and these items are my favorites. I mean, c’mon… Did you see that jacket?
