Funny story: This is me with a tan.
In this kind of heat, I want a no-muss, no-fuss outfit. Clean lines. Simple details. Minimal accessories. With my hair as the most colorful aspect of the outfit — and the shoes and bag the same cartoon level of pale as my legs — this neutral ensemble is exactly what I need to survive the last stretch of summer (which, for me, happens to be full of events.)
Plus, everything was found on super sale while shopping around St. Louis. The shoes were marked down from $80 to $30 at DSW. The dress dropped from $110 to $40-something at Anthropologie. The watch, previously priced at $300, was found for $70 at T.J. Maxx and I had a gift card. The Quay sunnies were clearanced at Nordstrom Rack for $10-ish, down from more than $50.
But I’ve gotten off topic. My point was to say that summer is in full swing, I can’t stand it, and this is what I look like tan. BRB, heading back to the shade.
