I didn’t spend the ’90s in St. Louis. I spent the ’90s in Springfield, Illinois, watching Clueless and Boy Meets World in my mother’s basement. I was obsessed with Hello Kitty and Lisa Frank and Keroppi. I was madly in love with Tommy, the green/white Power Ranger who — if I recall — was troubled with a heart of gold. I wanted to be Baby Spice, or maybe April O’Neil. I liked little more than playing Dr. Mario on our Super Nintendo.
No, I didn’t spend the ’90s in St. Louis. But if I had, this is what I would have worn.

I am thrilled to start ringing in the season with these cozy ’90s-appropriate favs: a soft, fall-hued pullover from Arch Apparel and new (super comfortable) fall knee boots from Naturalizer. All I need are some plush rainbow toe socks to complete my throwback autumn ensemble in total comfort.
Hi
Can you tell me if these shoes run small? The reviews online seem to be mix. I am thinking about ordering the wide calf but am not sure if I should go up a half size? Any thought? Now that you’ve had these for a while are they comfortable for all day wear?

Hello! I buy between an 8 and 8.5 normally in shoes, and I definitely needed the 8.5 here. Part of that is because I wear pretty thick socks when I wear boots, and part of that is because I think they run just a tiny bit small. If you’re unsure, I’d say go up half a size. You could always add some drugstore insoles if you needed to fill up a bit more space!
In regards to comfort, I’m a big fan. I probably wear these 2x week. Are they the most comfortable boots I have ever owned? No. But are they the most comfortable boots with a heel this tall I’ve ever owned? Absolutely. I wouldn’t wear them on an all-day walking tour, but I’ve worn them for an afternoon of walking around a mall with no problem. They are also aging really well and, like all my Naturalizer boots, still look great after constant use. Hope that helps!
