Dressing for the Holidays: Metallic Blues

So many outfit colors pop this time of year, from festive cranberry to snowy white. When I decided to do a series of holiday looks, blue wasn’t even one of the colors I’d considered — I wasn’t against it, it just didn’t even come to mind. Then I spotted this metallic blue dress and started imagining it with my gold and blue headband, and my gold and blue earrings, and a blue saddle bag… You see where I’m going with this.

I spent my Saturday morning at St. Louis Premium Outlets taking advantage of all the great holiday sales. (Seriously, don’t forget to join the VIP club for all the best coupons.) I picked up this deeply discounted Rebecca Minkoff tassel crossbody bag at Off Fifth, knocked down from about $300 to less than $150, because apparently I go for the same designer every time I head to this shopping center. If this isn’t proof you need to check out the purse options at St. Louis Premium Outlets, I guess there’s just no hope for you. I love the oversized zipper and boho tassel details, plus my mainly neutral wardrobe could use some colorful accessories. I also picked up this $50-ish metallic J. Crew dress while I was there, which — big news, guys — features pockets. More room to sneak extra Christmas cookies out of the party, amirite?
