Fall Please // Fall Preview

Or that’s what I keep telling myself to survive this hell sauna some of you joyfully call summer. Fall is coming, right?

Let’s talk for a moment about why summer is the absolute worst. I’d love to start with my sob-worthy electric bill (old house problems) but will instead focus on the annoying juxtaposition of super cold buildings compared to super hot outside areas. Even if you don’t hate the heat, how do you learn to love dressing for this weather? I need a sweater to survive my freezing office , and there’s a decent chance I’ll eventually die in the parking garage outside of work because I forget to remove said sweater before leaving the air conditioning. Plus, in a list of commonplace annoyances, I think we can all agree being sticky is a serious contender for champion nuisance. This time of year in this part of the country, everything is sticky. Your floor is sticky. Your desk is sticky. You are sticky. The humidity deflates any chance of a good hair day – or hell, any kind of a good day – but it’s too hot to wear a hat. Uuuggghhhh.

The few good parts of summer – seasonal ice cream and sno-cone stands, largely – are buried in the perpetual bullshit that is being this hot. My brain is too melted to add more logic to this argument.

I’m super ready for fall and this deeply discounted faux shearling vest from Tobi is one of the first things I want to wear.
