When you see a super soft ‘In Pizza We Trust’ shirt in your size for less than $10, you buy it. Or you are forced to give up your honorary Cool Club membership card. They’ll straight up revoke it. Say hello to a life in the So-So Society.
I, for one, am not ready to be kicked out.
But I was worried about how to rock a graphic tee as a grown-ass-person. I can’t really afford to look a lot younger. See, how do I put this correctly… I was recently hit on by a high school student who asked which grade I was in. My group of friends cheers a little when I don’t get carded for alcohol. Wearing a graphic tee in a juvenile way can send me past ‘You look young and fresh!’ and into ‘You look like a youth-adult hybrid in the worst of ways.’ Also this shirt is a juniors top, so honestly it’s my own fault if I look like an uncomfortable teen or a weird adult wearing clothes from a store that does not sell adult clothes. There are so many ways the whole thing can go wrong.
But… pizza shirt. PIZZA SHIRT. Do you see the conundrum I was in?
Never fear, pizza lovers: It all turned out alright. I decided to style my pizza shirt two different ways partly to show how versatile such a useless item is, but largely because it’s soft and awesome and I didn’t want to take it off. Up first? A stretchy pencil skirt and open button-up, plus my loyal pizza tee.
I would wear that outfit out for a pizza date for sure.
For the second look, I paired this t-shirt with a pair of Madewell slim boyfriend jeans, a neckerchief, and fashion-forward flats. Now all I need is a pullover sweater to make it work appropriate and then the second I leave the office – BAM! – pizza shirt.
