And just like that, it’s freezing! Cold weather is here to stay, and this recent autumn outfit features two of my favorite fabrics for the season: velvet and leather. I like to show a little skin, which is obviously tricky in the cold; perhaps if I bundle up the covered areas enough my exposed bits won’t feel the frost as quickly. That’s how that works, right? I mean this in the nicest way, but when I originally saw this Kendra Scott Winter ’18 jewelry it reminded me of 90s and 00s school dance accessories. The extra sparkle, the convertible choker length, the bright silver color… Past the nostalgia, I love these pieces because they teeter somewhere between dressy and edgy, especially when worn at the XL-long length. I have nothing but fond (awkward, perhaps, but fond) homecoming and prom memories, so rocking a piece with some semi-formal flair is fine by me.
