Floral Midi Skirt Love | One Skirt, Three Looks

For the sake of surviving the heat– on a journalist’s paycheck– it’s time to turn my few articles of hot weather clothing into multi-functional garments. Turns out, my favorite floral midi can be worn almost anywhere. That saves a couple bucks, yeah?

I learned a few weeks ago that this floral midi skirt pairs perfectly with a striped blouse (c’mon, you know I love mixing prints!) but that look seemed a little intense for the office. Paired with a cream blouse and an open blazer, it was work-ready in a snap– and kept me cool all day, even in my scorching office. To wear this midi during casual weekend outings, aka ultra-hot afternoons, I pair it with a graphic tee and tall wedges to tone down the length-created drama.

It is 8:30 p.m. and still 90° with 56% humidity. Loose skirts are the only answer. While this Forever 21 skirt is no longer available, American Apparel sells a pretty close match [HERE]. Just make sure to wear a slip!
