Seen in the Scene: Studded Jacket

Freshman year of high school I only wanted one thing for Christmas: a black leather jacket. My spectacular mother obliged and we found an affordable option at the mall that I instantly found an excuse to wear. Unbeknownst to me, however, the stitching was a bit subpar and the seams tore out after the first use. I was devastated—and, after we returned it and declined to buy another, I was on the hunt for a better option.

Lucky me, my dear friend Dylan said he had one he could give me. While perhaps the paint and studs on this jacket have seen better days (and perhaps it is a little warm for this time of year) its still a beloved item in my closet. I think it goes with damn near everything.

My styling of the piece has changed just a touch over the years. Only time will tell if the zany necklaces and overdone eyeliner will come back too.

I met Meredith Marquardt of L Photographie a few months ago during our Chase Park Plaza staycation, and she recently mentioned a special photo spot by the riverfront that she wanted to explore—with camera in hand, of course. Holy hell, does this woman have an eye! I was pretty perplexed when we met in a nondescript parking lot, but merely feet away were two spectacular locations that I cannot wait to share. I couldn’t help but share this look shot at This Bob Cassilly installment on the riverfront bike trail. Up next? I’ll share it soon!
