WHAT // Saint Louis Fashion Week Neiman Marcus Fashion Chat benefiting COCA
Saint Louis Fashion Week is in full swing, and the first show—a fundraiser for COCA, which raised more than $6,000—was recently held at Neiman Marcus. Attire and jewelry from Jonathan Simkhai, Lisa Freede and Frank & Eileen were presented while the designers commented on the looks, explaining intimate details the average customer may not know—such as, Frank & Eileen is named for designer Audrey McLoghlin’s grandparents. Without a doubt, the best line of the evening was from Jonathan Simkhai. As the three-quarter sleeve black dress (pictured below) was presented, he mentioned that he designs for women who go from commitment to commitment each day; many looks were designed to go “from office to oysters.” I love it—not oysters, at all, but the concept, totally.
The evening included not just fashion, but music; light bites and desserts; snacks from The Hive; and drinks from two of my favorite brands, Pinnacle and Skinny Girl. Oh, and I even won an Instagram contest that I didn’t know was underway! Neiman Marcus graciously gifted me a Jimmy Choo perfume set. Thank you! (Note to Julia: The weird amount of pennies you have been finding seem to be lucky… Keep picking them up, and keep an eye out for a magic lamp.)
